CROSSDEV: Public trainings, awareness and information event on sustainable tourism
Starting on July 14th, a series of three events on Sustainable and Responsible Tourism organised by CISP – lead beneficiary of CROSSDEV - will be held in Sicily, one of the implementation areas of the project.
EVENT 1
Title: “Sustainable and Responsible Tourism: experiences for the discovery of unknown places”
The activities in Sicily, along the Ancient Via Selinuntina, are connected to the two Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe based in Selinunte and Sambuca di Sicilia: The Phoenicians’ Route and Iter Vitis. The project concerns the territory located precisely on the SS 115; a road naturally inherited from ancient road axis. Along this road, the access points to the area are Menfi to the east and Gibellina to the west, in the area that corresponds to the Belice Valley. Three training events are scheduled on the themes of sustainable and experiential tourism. The first event will be held on Tuesday July 14th at the Bio-Resort Momentum in Selinunte and will lay the foundations for a qualitative and quantitative investigation of the target groups currently present in the Sicilian territory along the Via Selinuntina. The creation of a Working Group of volunteers will lead to the creation of a database for the promotion of the territory itself, to a website that will be created by CoopCulture, another project partner.

EVENT 2
Title: “Sustainable and Responsible Tourism: branding for territorial quality”
The aim of the meeting is to develop a model of quality self-certification of the territory within the CROSSDEV project as a guarantee system by the territory of the quality of the creative and experiential tourist-cultural offer. This will be possible through a territorial branding action based on a synthetic quality disciplinary agreed with the participating stakeholders and signed by all those who wish to adhere to the proposal.
Following the principles of the pact between host and territory, it is a commitment that private operators sign with local institutions and the project for the benefit of the guests and that will be guaranteed by the territory itself. Guests will also be able to interact by providing their opinion.

EVENT 3
Title: “Sustainable and Responsible Tourism: linking heritage and Creative Tourism”
The reference theme is the connection between the cultural, material and immaterial heritage of a territory, the natural and landscape heritage, and the methods of use that a territory expresses through the application of creativity.
Following a national appointment of the Archaeological Groups of Italy, Rediscovered Archeology, the objective of the meeting is to analyze the state of the art of cultural and archaeological tourism and define the applicable innovations so that it can be considered creative and experiential in a way to increase the customer satisfaction of the guest and the reputation of the territory. Therefore, an analysis of the ability of cultural sites to develop creative activities and to promote new micro entrepreneurship to meet the new needs of the target audience.
