On Tuesday the 8th of June, the TEX-MED ALLIANCES project presents a great innovation: the initiative “Leftovers” dedicated to textile stocks. It consists of a new platform – based on a Facebook group and therefore very quick and easy to be used – to show stocks and establish contact between partners and members of the group. Also, “Leftovers” platform represents an important opportunity to acquire top-quality fabrics, yarns, and textile accessories.

The “Leftovers” presentation will take place at 10.00 a.m. during the web conference, Open Forum on circular economy in the Mediterranean textile sector, coordinated by Confindustria Toscana Nord, the Italian partner of this project. 

The event will be divided into two different parts. During the first part, after the welcome by Mrs. Susanna Leonelli, Project Coordinator, Mr. Mauro Scalia, Director Sustainable Businesses of Euratex, will take the floor and will explain the most recent evolutions of the circular economy in the textile sector at the European and international level; afterwards, some videos will be showed concerning some companies working in different sectors of the textile industry and implementing best practices; a discussion among the participants will follow.

The second part, instead, will start with an intervention by Francesco Pellizzari, Technical Assistance Manager of TEX-MED ALLIANCES, who will describe the project activities as far as the circular economy is concerned. Afterwards, Mr.  Lorenzo Incagli, Local Project Manager of Confindustria Toscana Nord, and Mr.  Niccolò Corsi, Social Media Manager, will explain the “Leftover” initiative. Also, some companies, which already experienced that thanks to the TEX-MED Clusters project which was carried out before TEX-MED ALLIANCES, will share their experiences.

The pandemic has not stopped the TEX-MED ALLIANCES project. This project, launched in 2019, is financed by the European Union under the ENI CBC MED Programme and its objectives include several fields of the textile industry, especially innovation, internationalization, and sustainability.
