Last 7th and 8th of July, Ms. Lamees Shakhshir from Discovery Travel & Tourism LLC (Med Pearls Jordanian partner) attended the Synergy and Stakeholders Consultation for Identification of Priority Training Needs in the Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Resources workshop held in Aqaba, Jordan. An event organised by the ENI CBC Med project MED4EBM, that was led by the UNDP Jordan Office of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan. 

This workshop had the goal to highlight the contributions of the participating entities in Aqaba, and to discuss the priority training needs of such entities to achieve optimum sustainable benefits from the coastal and marine ecosystem resources and services.

The event counted with the participation of representatives from the ENI CBC MED Branch office in Aqba, MEDUSA and CROSSDEV projects, and the Marine Science Station - Jordan University.

Med Pearls project was invited to give a presentation on its main goals and actions, as well as to display its continuous commitment towards reaching the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, together with the presentations of the projects MEDUSA and CROSSDEV, Med Pearls brought to light their methodologies on how sustainable tourism development principles can be adopted for coastal and marine ecosystem goods and services management 

Besides the main presentations, the project also had the opportunity to meet and discover other projects working in the development and promotion of the coastal and marine ecosystem in Aqaba, as well as to participate in online sessions to meet the different MED4EBM project partners from Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, and Tunisia.
