Burqu Nature Reserve is located in the northeastern Badia of Jordan, about 12 km from the Syrian-Jordanian border and about 200 km to the east of Amman. It is a 906Km2 reserve and is very unique for its ecosystem. Studies show that there are more than 200 plant species, inside the reserve. Fauna rapid assessment shows 10-recorded mammalian species, among them: Arabian Gazelle, lynx, sandy cat, Arabian wolves, striped hyena and badger, sandy fox and red fox, wild rabbits. The reserve holds a year-round open ecolodge that is very close to Burqu castle and Burqu Dam with a capacity of 30 people and a locally operated Kitchen serving tasty traditional food Within the reserve there are 2 easy guided trails and 1 moderate trail that allow visitors to explore the Flora and fauna of the area as well as the marvelous scenery.
