RE-MED: guide opérationnel - valorisation DC&D en technique routière
The RE-MED project aims to transfer and experiment enabling technologies that allow construction and demolition waste (CDW) to be transformed into resources for the construction and maintenance of roads.
The purpose of this guide is to provide operational specifications concerning the environmental acceptability of alternative materials made from some CDW in road construction. The document specifies the framework within which they must be manufactured and the restrictions on their use and application and it sets out the obligations of the various parties involved in a road project, with a view to ensuring that a record is kept of worksites where CDW has been used.
This application guide is primarily intended for:
- Owners and contractors of construction and public works sites, to enable them to ensure optimum management of their waste;
- Owners and contractors wishing to use alternative materials made from CDW in road construction;
- manufacturing and application companies, so that they can offer materials made from CDW offering controlled environmental guarantees.
FFN-ii: Training on Location Aware System (LAS) Advances
The training meeting on Location Aware System (LAS) advances took place in Mabrouka Society in Khlidia-Ben Arous, Tunisia on May 18, 2023. The last day of the project's 3rd consortium meeting took place in Tunisia, by the Olive Tree Institute and the Regional Research Centre on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture (CRRHAB), and within the framework of the FruitFlyNet-ii project. Participants in the training meeting were the partners’ personnel and the hosting partner was the CCRHAB research team.
Eleven e-traps baited with Ceratitis capitata male attractant were set up gradually, along with conventional delta ones in the peach experimental sites belonging to Mabrouka society in Khlidia-Ben Arous. Tests on the transmission of data from the field to the server have been carried out successfully but with some failures. The research team will continue working to improve the quality of the devices.
FNN-ii: Training in MedFlyNet
The training Meeting on MedFlyNet took place in Campobasso on the 25th - 26th July 2022 within the framework of the FruitFlyNet-ii project. This was an in-person meeting, preceded by a one-day online meeting, held on 24th February 2022. Participated to the meeting the partners AUA, UCO and CRRHAB.
The meeting was carried at the premises of the University of Molise, organizing partner. The main objective was to provide a detailed technical description of the MedFlyNet prototype, for both the e-trap and basic e-services, including practical training and field demonstration. In more details, the meeting was organized in 4 sessions: session A on Medfly e-trap, session B: In-field training; session C: MedFlyNet digitalization and monitor module; session D: MedFlyNet DSS.
FFN-ii: Training in OliveFlyNet
The Training Meeting in OliveFlyNet took place in Athens, Greece on the 15th - 17th June 2022 within the framework of the FruitFlyNet-ii project. This was an in-person meeting, preceded by a one-day online meeting, organized by the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and held on 24th February 2022. Participated to the meeting the technical teams of partners UCO UNIMOL, LARI, and IO.
The meeting was carried at the premises of the Agricultural University of Athens (organizing partner). The main objective was to provide a detailed technical description of the OliveFlyNet prototype, for both the e-trap and e-services, including practical training and field demonstration in the experimental site of AUA located in Koropi, Athens, Greece. The 3 days meeting was organized in 5 sessions: session A on OliveFly e-trap prototype, session B on OliveFlyNet Monitor Module; session C on OliveFlyNet Mobile GIS Module, session D on OliveFlyNet assisted e-services, and finally, in the last day session E on In-field demonstration.
TRANSDAIRY Living Lab HandBook

2.8.2_Catalogue of innovations multifunctional olive systems Jordan
Having identified potentially useful innovations for Mediterranean multifunctional olive systems, the partners of LIVINGAGRO project developed a dedicated Catalogue intended to provide an overview of some of the innovations that may be useful to stakeholders involved with multifunctional olive systems in order to help bring together economic stakeholders and innovators who may be able to collaborate to solve common problems. This activity included assessing the stage of readiness of a potential innovation in Jordan, as well as which type of challenges it addresses.
Taking into consideration the needs expressed by Jordan stakeholders, the research team of the Regional Forest Agency for Land and Environment of Sardinia (Fo.Re.S.T.A.S.) in collaboration with the National Agricultural Research Center of Jordan (NARC) and their technical teams reviewed the information provided. Following this review, the working group went back to the innovators to address questions and fill in gaps, then incorporated the responses into the innovation descriptions. The Catalogue includes innovations related to intercropping in olive groves, olive tree and olive oil authentication.
2.8.2_Catalogue of innovations grazed woodlands Lebanon
Having identified potentially useful innovations for Mediterranean grazed woodlands, the partners of LIVINGAGRO project developed a dedicated Catalogue intended to provide an overview of some of the innovations that may be useful to stakeholders involved with grazed woodlands in order to help bring together economic stakeholders and innovators who may be able to collaborate to solve common problems. This activity included assessing the stage of readiness of a potential innovation in Lebanon, as well as which type of challenges it addresses.

Taking into consideration the needs expressed by Greek stakeholders, the research team of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh) and the technical team reviewed the information provided. Following this review, the working group went back to the innovators to address questions and fill in gaps, then incorporated the responses into the innovation descriptions. The Catalogue includes innovations related to intercropping in olive groves, precision agriculture, machinery, health benefit determination, olive tree and olive oil authentication, preparation for climate change and re-use of traditional practices in agroforestry.

TECHLOG O.5.7 - Joint proposal for a new shared qualification standard
The need to define standards for advanced training and licensing and qualification certification in the (trans)port and logistics field was among the main objectives of the project.
In the context of the TECHLOG project, stakeholders from port and transport companies and institutions from all partner countries were invited to take part in a capacity-building path, through which they were to exchange views and knowledge to build, supportedby the project partners and two external experts, a joint proposal for a common qualification standard for port and transport workers.
To this end, two preparatory online meetings, one in-person workshop, and one final recapitulatory online session were held.
The target audience for participation in the consultancy included:
1. Public officials with an administrative background and expertise in standardization and safety, such as:
a) State control officials in the shipping sector.
b) Harbormasters, often tasked with overseeing port operations in various countries.
2. Personnel involved in port operations, including:
c) Labor inspectorate officials responsible for health and safety regulations.
d) Port Authority representatives.
3. Professionals in logistics and transportation, such as:
e) Road safety officials.
f) Health and safety experts.
The resulting joint qualification standard is contained in Deliverable O.5.7, and was presented at the TECHLOG Final Conference, which took place in Cagliari on December 1st, 2023.
From waste to health: sustainable exploitation of grape pomace seed extract to manufacture antioxidant, regenerative and prebiotic nanovesicles within circular economy
Pomace seed extract loaded vesicles were prepared as promising technological and green solution to exploit agri-food wastes and by-products, and develop high value-added products for human health. An antioxidant extract rich in bioactive compounds was obtained from the seeds isolated from the pomace of Cannonau red grape cultivar. Overall results suggest the potential uses in food supplements for the treatment of intestinal disorders.
