On 15th of April 2021, Co-Evolve4BG attended the online training "Workshop on blue jobs and cross-cutting skills for young professionals and graduates of the Mediterranean countries" organised by OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale), HOMERe (Haute Opportunité en Méditerranée pour le Recrutement des Cadres d'excellence) and UfM (Union for the Mediterranean).

The importance of the marine and maritime industries will continue to grow in the Mediterranean region: the “Blue Economy'' sector is an engine of human and economic development for the entire region. Taking fully advantage of this sector’s potential will require a multi-skilled workforce from a wide variety of marine and maritime professional backgrounds, and areas such as marine biotechnology and marine renewable energy will also necessitate new knowledge, skills, and innovation. In order to achieve this goal, higher education has to innovate and gain relevance and quality.

The aim of the event was to join forces to help fill skills gaps and train future "blue growth" actors in the Mediterranean.

The Institute National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM), the lead beneficiary of Co-Evolve4BG project presented the objectives, activities and expected results of the project and opportunities that present Blue skill for young people. The training was a great opportunity to exchange and built new opportunities with other initiatives and young people.
