As part of the CROSSDEV project, co-financed by the European Union through the ENI CBC MED Programme, project leader CISP – Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli – and The Phoenicians' Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe – are organising a series of events to take place along the Antica Via Selinuntina, Smart Way of the Phoenicians' Route and Iter Vitis Route, in order to present the territorial offer of the area around Selinunte, Gibellina, Menfi and Sambuca di Sicilia.

B2B and Familiarisation Trip

A B2B Workshop and an Educational Fam Trip aimed at National and International Tour Operators will take place on October 22^nd and 23^rd.

In fact, after several meetings held in 2020 in the territories concerned by the project, tourism businesses of the area came up with new ideas, reflections, and tourism programs to keep people involved and attract new travelers. With the slogan "Tourism should never be the same" CROSSDEV and the locals are now working on new products, based on creative, experiential, slow, responsible and community tourism, to prepare the territory and its operators for the reopening of borders and new tourist flows, especially from abroad, that will soon visit Sicily again.

The B2B workshop – to be held at the Vigneto Resort in Porto Palo di Menfi on October 22^nd – will be attended by Tour Operators with different business orientation and focusing on a specific segment, including tour organisers and hotel and non-hotel hospitality promoters. Operators from the whole Sicily who want to attend the B2B shall book in advance, in order to ensure health safety and distancing rules.

Registrations will be accepted upon availability, so we invite everyone to register as soon as possible.

On the 23^rd, a guided Familiarisation Trip along the Via Selinuntina will also be organised for a selection of tourism businesses. During the day, participants will be able to visit and test some local places, and to give inputs and ideas to further enhance future tourists’ experience.

The Awards Ceremony

We are very happy to finally announce the winners of the two prizes to be assigned by CROSSDEV within the first edition of the Iter Vitis and Phoenician Route Awards.

Among the many categories awarded, CROSSDEV assigned the following two prizes to:

• The best practice that involves local communities in the development of a sustainable cultural / archaeological / gastronomic or naturalistic tourism product to Palestinian Heritage Trail (Palestine).
• The best practice implemented by a local authority for the promotion of sustainable tourism in its area to Municipality of San Bellino (Italy).

The Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 23^rd, starting from h. 6.00 pm at Palazzo Panitteri, CROSSDEV, Phoenicians' Route and Iter Vitis Route Interpretation Center in Sambuca di Sicilia (Sicily, Italy).
