Aqaba is the only coastal city in Jordan, located on southernmost at the Red Sea. Its salty water has a unique coral reef ecosystem, which stretches for 1,240 miles along the coastline. Despite the small coast line Aqaba has over 25 diving sites to choose from that stand out for its frequent crystal-clear visibility and astonishing array of diverse marine life. Each site is different in its own way and they vary from shallow coral gardens and pinnacles to deep canyons and ship wrecks. As the gulf is so narrow and so deep there are no ‘off-shore’ reefs. All the sites accessible from the boat are also possible form the shore. Aqaba is the perfect spot for scuba diving and snorkeling for its rich variety of under water ecosystem. The Red see is home for 1,200 species of fish and Its Coral is renowned all over the world for its beauty and complexity and specially for its diversified colors. It Is just a photographer’s paradise. Aqaba is a great place to visit all year through with an average water temperature of 19°F, even in December and January rising up to an 29°C average in the summer months.

Direct access to the reef. Beautiful reef with a lot of fish and corals. A little windy in January but water temperature was 24 degrees celzius. I suggest wet suit.”

Aqaba’s most famous diving sites

  1. Cedar Pride Wreck dive site

Is the most famous place to dive in Aqaba which consists of a long ship sunk by King Hussain and is full of coral life.

 

  1. Underwater military museum Jordan

This is the first underwater military museum in the world that consists of 21 pieces which include tanks and ambulance military crane helicopter

 

  1. The Tank

This site is in shallow area although it is appealing tourists because it is rarity that consists of old sunken tank which is home to verity fishes and corals.

 

  1. Seven Sisters

This is the rarest site in small area which consist of a lot of rare colored fish

 

  1. Coral Garden

An impressive reef with unique coral, it is homeland for frogfish ,fire corals, and allows visitors to see the crocodile fish and torpedo ray at the sandy bottom.

 

  1. Japanese Gardens

this is a very beautiful site consist of reef spreads, which is home for a lot of hard and soft coral species, larger fish reef, and black coral in deep.

 

  1. Rainbow Reef

The reef forming a beautiful wall along the side of the reef with rainbow colors. This reef makes a particularly good night dive where you will find a lots of  lobsters and  colored corals ,so if you want to dive “Rainbow Reef” then do it at night.
