NEX-LABS project aims to support implementation of clean technologies for sustainable and resilient increase of agri-food sector production based on a more efficient use of energy (renewable/solar solutions) and water (wastewater treatment, water harvesting or reuse solutions) in Mediterranean Partners Countries (MPC) thanks to contributions of ICT sector (blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Big Data).

LIVINGAGRO  addresses the challenge of knowledge and technological transfer in Mediterranean agriculture and forestry systems for achieving and sharing good practices aimed at sustainable production, protecting biodiversity, enhancing transfer of innovation and increasing profitability for territories and main actors as well as stakeholders involved by using an open innovation approach.

Both projects have agreed to specifically cooperate in most of their activities as they share common objectives.

In particular as general cooperation actions, the projects will exchange institutional visits and missions, support mutual dissemination of results and will plan participation and co-organization of events targeting the same audience.

As specific cooperation activities the two project will cooperate in the dissemination of the vouchers and sub-grant opportunities, providing visibility to avoid double funding and redress unselected candidates to other project’s opportunities.

The two initiatives aim at co-organizing 1 or 2 events between 2021 and 2022 targeting private companies and farmers of the agri-food and agroforestry sector, research stakeholders, institutions and citizens.

Furthermore they will work closely for a better understanding of Living Labs (LLs) approaches by different projects for a common and appropriate use and management practices of LLs to support the ENI CBC MED LL Hub and facilitate the interaction with European Network Of Living Labs (ENoLL).

The project partners will cooperate in the identification of best practices related to ICT in the agri-food, water and energy sectors, paying particular attention to the reduction of carbon footprint on agri-food applications and the opportunities offered by blockchain technology.

NEX-LABS and LIVINGAGRO will also consolidate a database of Water, Energy and Food experts and of relevant stakeholders in the field of farming and forestry in order to further develop the cooperation opportunities between projects.

The NEX-LABS project partners are sure that this cooperation will be very fruitful and will bring benefit to the whole Mediterranean community!
