STAND Up!: 4 textile and fashion entrepreneurs in Tunisia selected to have access to regional markets in the Mediterranean

STAND Up! has selected 4 textile and fashion entrepreneurs in Tunisia to grow their ventures and access regional and international markets. Lamia Hamrouni, Nadia Jendoubi, Mahdi Houli and Sarra Bouchareb are the three female and one male entrepreneur in the clothing industry that will get the connections they need to expand their start-ups into an overseas market and explore business opportunities and partnerships.

After the launching of the call for applications “Soft-landing Voucher Scheme”, which was closed last 15th of April 2022, the selected early and growth-stage entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive a voucher about 4,000€ each. These soft-landing voucher schemes will provide the entrepreneurs with the chance boost international business development and connect with local industry players, plus meeting stakeholders from the region. 

  • Lami Mode: This start-up creates a range of clothing from fibers and natural dyes, with a modern traditional touch, with the aim of protecting cultural heritage and enhancing end-of-life items.
  • Najen Nature: It creates a complete line of elegant and timeless menstrual lingerie, in organic cotton and tencel.
  • Guya Gang: This venture creates and makes marketing of an eco-responsible clothing brand specializing in Yoga, hip and comfortable outfits.
  • Artwo: It produces floor mats and decorative items such as bed rails, seats, etc. from the collection and sorting of textile waste.

The soft-landing voucher schemes will cover flight expenses from participants; material expenses such as digital services to help ventures boost their visibility or marketing strategy; per diem expenses covering food, accommodation and transportation and concierge expenses hosting organization’s expertise to support ventures’ growth and conference attendance.

The selected entrepreneurs will be able to choose the territory where to implement the soft-landing activity and access the local market with their business. The eligible territories where the soft-landing activity should be applied are located in the ENI CBC Med cooperation area.

This activity aims at accelerating job creation and stimulate connection between Southern and Northern Mediterranean through the selection of 20 ventures in total in the 5 project partners, which are: Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Spain and Tunisia.

STAND Up! is an EU-funded project under the ENI CBC Med programme which intends to support textile entrepreneurs and eco-innovative ventures in the Mediterranean and help them seize business opportunities that the green evolution will generate.
