RE-MED explains the environmental impact of using recycled aggregates in the building sector
As environmental challenges continue to rise, the need for transition to a circular economic model which considers ecological impacts is increasing. In the construction sector, waste produced through construction and demolition operations remain unexploited and undervalued considering their worth in promoting circular economy. With population growth, the increasing demand for housing and the increasing pressure on virgin aggregate use, construction and demolition waste may be the sustainable catalyst which can drive the diversion from and preservation of natural resources.
