Siwar Kouki, a Tunisian beneficiary of the InnovAgroWoMed project and one of the winners of the call for applications for the project's subgrant, launched by the Centre of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR), shared with us her incredible joy after the almost unexpected birth of the very first heifer of her project, which she has just launched.

Thanks to the InnovAgroWoMed project grant, Siwar was able to acquire two beautiful cows to start her activity in breeding and processing of dairy products.

Only 15 days after the acquisition of the cows, one of them gave birth on 31 December 2022, a very cute heifer to welcome the new year, the new life of Siwar and her partners of the Agricultural Development Group. The year 2023 is clearly promising life, opportunities and success.

The birth of our little heifer has generated a lot of joy in the offices of the project staff. It was like a fulfilment of efforts, or better still, a handover, an effect of continuity that was built up over time.

Siwar gave us the privilege of finding a name for her heifer and she wanted it to be something that would remind the project.

After some discussion, we named her "Nin'nuova", a clever little play on words in tribute to the project that made this dream possible! "Nina" inspired by the language of the Spanish partner (literally "little girl"), "nuova" as a tribute to our Italian partner (literally "new"), all recalling the first letters of the project acronym "InnovAgroWoMed".

Welcome Nin'nuova! We wish you a long life, a healthy lactation and a high quality of milk for the GDA of our beneficiaries!

InnovAgroWoMed is a project funded by the UE under the ENI CBC Med Program
