The municipality of Prato, partner of the INNOMED-UP project, has assigned vouchers worth €40,000 to 6 companies in the Prato area, financed by the ENI CBC MED Programme for cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean.

The projects carried out over a 5-month period ended in April and addressed the issues of circularity in the creative and cultural industry clusters.

Thanks to the vouchers, the beneficiaries have expanded their activities and implemented some of the ideas already under development, managing to implement sustainable projects and consolidating their circularity objectives.

For years, the successful tenderers have been operating in the Prato area to reconcile the textile tradition with new Circular Economy (CE) practices, within a vision that favors creativity in the adoption of these same practices.

The short videos made by the Municipality to show the results obtained are a summary of the commitment that has been put into the activities carried out. The multiple declination of the same theme are observed in the different outputs obtained.

The creation of artistic works followed by Accaventiquattro Arte, the creation of platforms to guide businesses and companies to obtain the certification on the circularity of Moebeus, the acquisition of specific machinery for processing plastic, rubber and fabric waste of Ipercollettivo, Recuperiamoci and Lottozero and the activation of consultancy aimed at obtaining information on the state of the art in European countries regarding the possible creative reuses in the design of plastic materials by Mariplast.

The assignment of vouchers to subjects of different interest in the Cultural and Creative Industries sector has allowed for a greater diffusion of CE schemes and citizen’s engagement.
