The energy trends in the Mediterranean region are characterised by the growing demand for energy, fossil fuels dependence, high CO2 emissions, etc., with negative consequences on the environment. Buildings are responsible for a significant part of the total energy consumption.This document presents an administrative procedure for students, teachers and school staff. Building users may play important role in improving energy management in their buildings, when encouraged and motivated properly. This is especially relevant for schools, where there are many "permanent" users, including teachers, pupils and staff. Their combined efforts can bring results that may be difficult to achieve in other types of buildings. There are different methods for involving building users in energy management processes and changing their behaviours. In each case, the process should start with adequate information and education to give context and theoretical background to practical activities.
