By celebrating Earth Day, you are taking part of a community of 1 billion people all over the world, celebrating, acting and sharing this commitment to do something big, something great, something everlasting.

In 1970, Denis Hayes organized the first Earth Day, an event that helped spark the modern environmental movement and the creation of environmental protection legislations around the world.

The theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The enormous challenge — but also the vast opportunities — of action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary.

Our project aims to boost the development of eco-innovative ventures in order to create employment and drive the green and circular economy in the Mediterranean. The GIMED project is committed to support initiatives promoting environmental protection, but there are plenty of things we can all do:

- Join the conversation on earthday.org, where you will find different call for actions every hour.

- Take a look at the online events that are being organized around the world.

- Spread the word with your family and friends and on social media.

- Join the Earth Challenge 2020 and help collect data on air quality and plastic pollution across your region.

So let’s raise our voice and support the first Digital Earth Day 2020 together.
