On 15th of July 2020, an online meeting was held to discuss how to analyse impacts (threats) and opportunities (enabling factors) for a sustainable tourism and multiple use of coastal maritime factors. The meeting was coordinated by Dr. Arnaldo Marín from the University of Murcia, Spain.

The main objective of this meeting was to assess the pressure of human activities on marine habitats and their ecosystem services in the seven Co-Evolve4BG pilot areas:  Circeo National Park and Biosphere Reserve in Italy, Region of Murcia in Spain, Region of Sousse-Monas and Gulf of Gabes - Djerba island in Tunisia, Area of Batroun and Area of Type Coast Nature Reserve in Lebanon and Area of Alexandroupoli and Samothraki island in Greece.

 More specifically, the specific objectives of the meeting can be broken down into the following specific goals:

  1. Review the methodology to identify impacts (threats) and opportunities (enabling factors) for a sustainable tourism and multiple use of coastal maritime space at Mediterranean and local levels.
  2. Discussion of a template for carrying out project reports related to aforementioned impacts and opportunities for a sustainable tours.
  3. Calculation of the pressure of recreational and commercial activities on the coast.
  4. Identification of marine habitats and ecosystem services on which pressure is exerted and which may be affected by it.

The pilot leaders attended the meeting to continue working on the impacts (threats) and opportunities (enabling factors) for a sustainable tourism and multiple use of coastal maritime space.
