The COMMON project team at the Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM) organized a training with local institutions and associations for the reduction of marine litter through the integrated management of marine litter. The various local actors of the city of Monastir, a pilot area of the project, came together to discuss and exchange information on the main environmental problems affecting the city. Subsequently, solutions were proposed through the application of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) in Tunisia, to improve the knowledge of the protocol and to support the development of the model in the Mediterranean areas.

The second day of the training was dedicated to the definition of an action plan for the Bay of Monastir and the Kuriat Islands.

Leila Ben Abdeladhim (Agence de Protection et d'Aménagement du Littoral - APAL) and Racha Sallemi (University of Manouba) took part in the event as trainers.
