Innovative energy retrofitting in historic public buildings: start of the BEEP project
On October 15 and 16, the kick-off meeting of the BEEP project took place in Rome. BEEP project (BIM for Energy Efficiency in the Public sector) aims at strengthening the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enhance energy efficiency in buildings. The testing of this emerging technology on built heritage will be performed to demonstrate its scalability to the entire building stock.

Palestine: Med-EcoSuRe project performs an energy audit at the An-Najah National University
As part of the Med-EcoSuRe project, 3 different buildings of the An-Najah National University, the largest one in Palestine, have recently undergone an energy audit in view of identifying opportunities to reduce energy expense and carbon footprint.
More specifically, the following items were investigated:
New solutions for water-use efficiency in Tunisia: study visit of the PROSIM project visit in the Mahdia pilot area
The PROSIM project aims at implementing innovative solutions for water-use efficiency and use of non-conventional water in agriculture, thus reducing water stress in selected areas of the Mediterranean basin, such as Mahdia in Tunisia.
In this region, a reverse osmosis desalination system will be installed to manage 400m3 of water per day, making it possible for a minimum of 30 local farmers to improve the quality of the water used and increase the productivity of their crops.
