New solutions for organic waste management: launch of the CLIMA project
The launching event of the CLIMA project ("Cleaning Innovative Mediterranean Action: reducing waste to boost economies") took place in Sestri Levante (Italy) from 23rd to the 25th of January 2020. In Seville (Spain) researchers and technicians from Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Spain and Italy are exchanging experiences and learning best practices to reduce water insecurity by designing the most suitable systems to promote a sustainable agriculture. These are the joint challenges faced by MENAWARA (Non Conventional WAter Re-use in Agriculture in MEditerranean countries): a project produced with the financial assistance of the European Union under the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme.
PROSIM project, an accelerator of development: interview to Andrea Vigevani, ICU Secretary General
Andrea Vigevani is Secretary General at ICU - Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria, the Lead Beneficiary of PROSIM project, a ENI CBC Med project dealing with issues related to water losses due to non-efficient irrigation systems, limited reliance on non-conventional water (NCW), scarce capacities of institutions to enforce effective water management plans and lack of awareness of modern solutions at farm level.

TEC-MED has started to analyse the social care models of the different countries participating in the project. In relation to this task, more than 10 researchers from Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Lebanon and Egypt have been holding interviews with relevant people of the social care area.

Adventure tourism (AT), represents one form of sustainable tourism, among several further ones (like e.g. slow tourism, ecotourism, off-peak or domestic traveling), which offers a possibility to cancel out tourism’s negative effects.
