World Turtle Day: COMMON project to release two Caretta caretta sea turtles in Monastir, Tunisia

Celebrated every May 23, World Turtle Day is a great opportunity to promote knowledge and respect for turtles among public opinion and encourage initiatives that aim to protect and conserve these cheloniidae. The initiative is sponsored yearly since 2000 by American Tortoise Rescue, to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive.

United for turtles!

Tyre Coast Nature Reserve is a precious Mediterranean heritage located in Lebanon, and an important nesting site for migratory birds and the endangered Loggerhead and green sea turtles. It is also a pilot area of ENI CBC Med COMMON project and there, environmental scientists work to protect the sea and its biodiversity from marine litter.
